A big week on the colleges front lies ahead.

It’s going to be a busy few days for Waterford College sides competing in the Munster Colleges G.A.A. Championships as well as for colleges outside of the county that will most likely include some players who are playing for clubs within the county.

The Harty Cup continues on Wednesday with nine games down to be played. Three Waterford sides will be amongst those playing, two of whom will be playing in the competition for the first time this year. The holders Colaiste na nDéise are the only side to have played in this years competition to date, recording a 3-13 to 1-13 win over Doon CBS last Wednesday in Golden.

In Group A, De La Salle College make the long trip to Mallow to take on the Kerry Colleges for a 1-30pm throw in while at the same time in Pairc na Gael in Limerick there is an all Limerick clash when Ardscoil Rís and Castletroy meet and at Mitchelstown Clonmel CBS and Saint Colman’s College from Fermoy do battle.

In Group B, Blackwater Community School in Lismore make the short journey to Fermoy where they will play Charleville C.B.S. at 1-30pm and half an hour earlier at Claughan, Our Lady’s from Templemore take on the West Limerick Colleges.

Two games are down for decision in Group C. At Templemore there is an all Tipperary battle when Thurles CBS and Nenagh CBS do battle at 1-30pm and at the same time in Cobh there is an all Cork battle when Midleton CBS and Colaiste Chriost Rí do battle.

Colaiste na nDéise make the journey to Tipperary Town to play Saint Caimin’s from Shannon for a 1-30 start. The West Waterford Colleges side will have happy memories of playing here, as there most recent visit saw them beat a fancied Saint Flannan’s side in the quarter final stages of last years competition, and in Ballygiblin outside Mitchelstown, Gael Coláiste Mhuire from Cork City take on Doon CBS again at 1-30pm.
